Ted Todd expands project collection

Ted Todd has long been recognised as a leader in engineered wood flooring, setting benchmarks for craftsmanship, sustainability, and thoughtful design. This year, the brand has taken another confident step forward with the expansion of its award-winning Project collection and the introduction of six brand-new extra wide, extra thick planks. These new additions mark both an evolution in product engineering and a direct response to the needs of today’s architects, designers, and homeowners.

The launch builds on the success of a recent development within their Warehouse collection, where Ted Todd introduced a 20mm construction option that was met with immediate enthusiasm. Listening closely to customer feedback, the brand has now extended this enhanced construction to some of the most sought-after tones within the Project collection, giving clients wider design choices without significantly increasing cost. This new floor set delivers exceptional durability, enduring beauty, and the thoughtful practicality for which Ted Todd is known.

The six new variations are available for the first time as 220mm extra wide planks with a 20mm thickness and a generous 6mm wear layer, a specification that signals both longevity and confidence in their commercial craft. These boards enrich existing Project favourites including Almond, Brindle, Caramel, Calico, Petworth and Tattenhall, each now offered in a hardened oil finish for added protection in busy residential and commercial environments. From the warm, golden character of Almond to the rich depth of Caramel and the bright clarity of Calico, the extended palette offers a spectrum of tones suited to a wide range of interiors.

Crafted from nature grade European oak, each plank highlights the honest, expressive features of timber through subtle brushing that reveals knots, grain variation and natural movement in the wood. This emphasis on authentic texture anchors the collection in real materiality, while Ted Todd’s precision engineering ensures the floors perform to modern expectations. Sourced from responsibly managed forests, all timber used remains fully FSC-certified.

As the original pioneers of the extra wide plank design, Ted Todd continues to shape industry direction rather than follow it. These new boards embody that philosophy, balancing style and substance in a way that reflects contemporary living. They carry forward decades of knowledge and innovation, drawing on techniques refined by the brand’s sister company, Woodworks. Commercial interior spaces today demand durability, refined aesthetics, and materials that support both performance and environmental responsibility, all qualities delivered in Ted Todd’s newest offering.

For clients working at scale or in high-traffic settings, the enhanced construction offers a critical advantage in reliability. The combination of width, thickness, and wear layer creates an extremely hard-wearing floor that is engineered to stand the test of time. The hardened oil finish further elevates the boards’ resilience, ensuring they maintain their appearance and tactile quality even under significant use.

Robert Walsh, founder of Ted Todd, describes the launch as representative of a greater choice, a more sustainable approach to specifying flooring, and the continuation of a legacy built on fine craft and integrity. “This innovation provides not only more choice for our clients, but greater options for hard-wearing exceptional quality floors and a more sustainable approach to selecting a product you can trust will last a lifetime.”

With these new additions, the Project Collection reinforces its position at the core of Ted Todd’s offering. Clients can now explore these enhanced designs first-hand, order samples, or receive tailored guidance from the Ted Todd team, beginning a journey toward a floor that is engineered for the future and crafted to be lived with for life.
