Bristol Marriott Royal Hotel has appointed Adam Flint as General Manager. Bringing more than 25 years of hospitality experience, including over 18 years with Marriott International, Adam joins the historic property with extensive operational leadership experience and established relationships across Bristol’s hospitality sector.
Adam began his career through Marriott International’s graduate management programme, progressing through roles across several UK properties, including London, Heathrow, Swindon and Birmingham, and contributing to the opening of Leicester Marriott. He subsequently spent nine years with Hilton, holding senior leadership positions including Cluster General Manager before becoming General Manager of DoubleTree by Hilton Bristol City Centre. During his tenure, the hotel was named Focus Hotels’ Hotel of the Year in both 2024 and 2025. Earlier in his career, Adam received an Acorn Award and a European Young Leaders Award.
His return to Marriott brings together extensive experience across two major international hotel groups with a strong understanding of the Bristol market. Adam is particularly well placed to lead Bristol Marriott Royal Hotel, whose Grade II listed Victorian architecture, rich heritage and longstanding place within the city’s hospitality landscape distinguish it as one of Bristol’s most recognisable hotel properties.
Alongside his hotel leadership experience, Adam is Chair of the Bristol Hoteliers Association, now in his second year in the role. Representing 33 member hotels, the association works to support people and skills, contribute to social and charitable initiatives, and strengthen collaboration across Bristol’s hospitality industry. Its work includes supporting The Grand Appeal through the annual Night of the Stars event, as well as working with schools, colleges and training partners to create opportunities for people entering the sector.
As General Manager, Adam’s priorities include strengthening the guest experience, developing the hotel’s team and building on the property’s established reputation. He is particularly focused on the first moments of a guest’s stay, including revitalising the concierge service, while bringing in local talent with a strong knowledge of and connection to Bristol. His ambition is to position the hotel as the city’s leading flagship property for business and leisure travellers.
Commenting on his appointment, Adam Flint said: “It is a real honour to be appointed General Manager of Bristol Marriott Royal Hotel. I have admired the hotel for many years and, having spent a significant part of my career in Bristol, have a strong appreciation for its place within the city’s hospitality landscape. The hotel has such a rich history and distinctive character, and I’m delighted to have the opportunity to lead the team and build on its longstanding reputation. Bristol is a fantastic city with so much to offer, and I’m excited about the future of Bristol Marriott Royal Hotel and the role we can continue to play in welcoming guests to the city.”
