Layered Luxe, Shaw Hospitality Group

In its first collaboration, Shaw Hospitality Group has partnered with renowned architect David Rockwell on a new collection of broadloom carpets for the hospitality market. Layered Luxe, which is inspired by elements found in nature, combines organic forms with linear divisions to create tonal shifts of richness and depth.

Launching at Boutique Design New York in November, Layered Luxe elevates hospitality flooring with the shifting light of semi-precious stones, smoked crackle of Japanese raku pottery and texture of comfortably worn, weathered textiles.

David Rockwell, founder and president of Rockwell Group, says: “We’ve always admired Shaw Hospitality Group’s commitment to producing sustainable products and their ability to create high-quality, detailed expressions of our designs.”

Inspired by the richness of opulent, well-worn vintage rugs and the patterns of geodes and semi-precious stones such as lapus and malachite, Layered Luxe connects rich material surfaces with modern, chic hospitality environments. The collection includes an abstract Tiger’s Eye design overlaid with a shifting grid, a herringbone pattern with tonal shifts, and motifs in distressed and weathered finishes.

Though shown in sophisticated neutrals, Layered Luxe is customisable with a palette of more than 270 Eco Solution Q solution-dyed nylon and unlimited skein-dyed nylon colour options.

As with all Shaw Hospitality Group carpet collections, Layered Luxe is manufactured with Eco Solution Q nylon, which is Cradle to Cradle certified by McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry. Eco Solution Q contains 45% recycled content, consisting of 20% pre-consumer and 25% post-consumer recycled content.

Layered Luxe can be reclaimed at the end of its life and recycled into new carpet again through the Shaw Industries Evergreen Nylon Recycling Facility in Augusta, Georgia, USA.
