Centre stage in the new Mancunian hospitality lounge at Manchester City FC’s Etihad stadium is a striking circular bar installation that makes the most of the elegance and versatility of DuPont Corian.
In pristine Antarctica from the exclusive colour palette for DuPont Corian, this seamlessly curving feature offers a smooth, easy-care surface that will serve the club’s guests in style for the long term.
Designed by 20.20, the high-spec interior is a vibrant, contemporary space created to embody the proud culture of Manchester and the heritage of Manchester City FC. The central bar installation was built by fit-out specialist Freemont on a steel framework with a curved fascia of olive ash slats.
Freemont director, Charles Roland comments: “The bar design needed a high-performance material that could cope with very fine tolerances while also being easy to maintain and durable. Corian was the natural choice.”
Renowned for adding sophisticated value to hospitality design schemes, Corian offers innovative solutions, endless versatility and proven reliability. Robust, non-porous and hygienic, the material adapts beautifully to any creative vision and resists the pressures of high-traffic environments, though the surface can also be renewed should any damage occur. Corian is lustrous in finish, silky to the touch and very easy to clean and maintain, adding value both in terms of aesthetics and functionality. Material was supplied for the Mancunian Lounge project by CD (UK), distributors of DuPont¢ Corian in the UK since 1979.
