Hypnos launches new charity partnership with Magic Breakfast

Award-winning British bed manufacturer and Royal Warrant holder, Hypnos, has announced leading children’s charity, Magic Breakfast, as its charity partner for 2017.

To mark its commitment, Hypnos has already provided a £20,000 donation as a percentage of its 2015/2016 financial profit, and has pledged to show further support for the charity in 2017 through a series of fundraising events.

Magic Breakfast is a registered children’s charity providing healthy breakfasts and expert support to schools in disadvantaged areas of the UK. A good breakfast is crucial for giving children the energy and concentration they need during their school day, and improving their overall education. Pair this with a good night’s sleep, something Hypnos is passionate in educating youngsters about, and it will help them to kick-start a busy day at school feeling refreshed and alert.

The money that has been donated will help to provide over 90,000 healthy and nutritious breakfasts to children who need them most.

Chris Ward, group marketing director at Hypnos, said: “We are extremely excited to begin our partnership with Magic Breakfast. By educating children on the value of a good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast, they are guaranteed to have the best start to the day possible, helping to improve their concentration at school in the process. At Hypnos we’re committed to helping thousands more children start the day right by receiving a nutritious breakfast allowing them to enjoy a more focused learning experience.”

Hypnos’ partnership with Magic Breakfast means that the charity is one step closer to their mission to make sure that no child in the UK starts their school day without breakfast by 2020.

Magic Breakfast’s founder and chief executive, Carmel McConnell MBE, said: “We are delighted that Hypnos has chosen to support Magic Breakfast.

This help is urgently needed as every day there are over half a million children in the UK starting school too hungry or malnourished to learn and missing out on four crucial hours of learning as a result. Hypnos will be helping us to improve the concentration and social mobility of so many more school children, for which we are extremely grateful”.

As a caring employer, committed to both ethical manufacturing, sustainability and its communities, the business regularly undertakes tree planting exercises with local schools, teaching the importance of protecting the environment, as well as carrying out educational school tours to teach young people about the benefits of a good night’s sleep.

Magic Breakfast works with 467 Primary, Secondary and Special Educational Needs schools, plus Pupil Referral Units giving a nutritious breakfast to 31,000 children each school day, with many more still needing their support.
