ICE International – Luxurious high-end custom handmade rugs and carpets

ICE International develops and produces custom handmade rugs and carpets for high-end hotels, restaurants, residential projects, private yachts and jets. The family business, founded in 1970 by Frits Janssen, has offices in The Netherlands, Dubai, New York and Paris and works with renowned interior design firms such as Yabu Pushelberg, Hirsch Bedner Associates, Wilson Associates, Jacques Garcia, Zuretti Interior Designers and Richmond International. The two sons are currently at the helm and have built a reputation of on point delivery, exceptional quality, and brilliant personalised service.

We are recognised for unburdening our client and believe that delivering top-notch service throughout every step of the process is key to building long-lasting relationships. Our experienced Project Managers closely supervise your project from the initial contact to full completion, whilst always considering your wishes and possibilities in terms of design, budget and delivery time. Every project gets our undivided attention in order to offer a suitable solution for each of them.

Our in-house design team is extremely skilled in translating your inspiration into a rug design. It could be your mood board, your scenery, your work of art or your scribble on a napkin. You won’t go back and forth for endless adjustments in your design, and you will receive a sample that looks exactly like the artwork. Our years of experience with different materials and techniques ensures we can provide the right solution for each project and working with us will feel like a dream. Without frustration in the process, we will turn your project into something truly unique.

A great example is our collaboration with Moinard Bétaille for Hotel Cala di Volpe in Sardinia where we developed and produced beautiful vibrant and colourful rugs for the suites and hallway. One of the designs is a watercolour painting done by Bruno Moinard personally. Using a special technique, our designers were able to achieve the same fluent, dreamy watercolour effect in the final rug design. A true eye catcher!

Or talk about attention to detail – Our latest bespoke hand-tufted carpet for the stairway of the St. Regis Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi is something to write home about. Before the production, our installation team templated every single step to ensure a perfect alignment of the design at the stairs. We are beyond doubt you would take great pleasure in graciously walking down this astonishing stairway carpet.

On top of it all, our clients all set heart on our ICE library. The ICE Library is a well-known online platform for interior designers looking for the perfect rug or carpet for their project. You can browse through our database of beautiful designs and patterns. You can customise your favourite patterns in every colour and upload pictures of your own project to see if the design suits your space. A must have for every interior designer.

If you’re like us, you will find it very important to feel responsible for the future of the next generation. That’s why we always go for the best sustainable options in our projects. We all have an opportunity to make different choices in our sustainable consumption. For over 50 years we have worked with natural materials that have a minimal impact on the environment, and all our woollen rugs and carpets meet the CRI Green Label Plus requirements.

One of our latest collections called ‘Anew’ is made of 100% recycled PET yarn and specifically developed to withstand outdoor elements, such as wet, and hot or cold climates. The yarn has been dyed following a unique procedure which includes UV stabilisation, what makes the yarn resistant to abrasion. Very attractive if you are designing an outdoor space for your project.

Not only we find it important to feel responsible, we are also committed making a positive impact on the world around us. We have been involved in the Care & Fair foundation since 1994, in fact, the founder of ICE International, was one of the initiators. Care & Fair offers free education and primary medical health care to carpet knotting families in India and Pakistan. Both brothers regard Care & Fair as one of the most rewarding elements of their business.

We would very much appreciate the opportunity to learn about the challenges in your next project. We passionately show you the endless possibilities that will assure you that your project turns out in something truly unique. Get in touch!
