Kaldewei to launch the free-standing OYO DUO

Kaldewei is launching the MEISTERSTu?CK OYO DUO – created by the Munich based designer Stefan Diez. With this free-standing bathtub, the German bathroom manufacturer demonstrates how luxury and sustainability can go hand in hand, even in smaller bathrooms. Neither loft nor living room areas are needed to stage the OYO DUO as it sets its own scene perfectly and turns your bathroom into a modern private spa. At its preview at the Fuorisalone in Milan, the MEISTERSTu?CK caused an enormous stir among the international audience. Here the new Kaldewei bathtub was part of the “Design Forever” exhibition by Elle De?cor Italia. The official market launch of the OYO DUO now follows.

The MEISTERSTu?CK combines organic, natural design with uncompromisingly durable materials made from recyclable Kaldewei steel enamel. The OYO DUO is the new highlight to emerge from Kaldewei’s LUXSTAINABILITY world. The family business combines form and design with sustainability and resource conservation, with this concept. Stefan Diez has taken these aspects into account and has used them to create a graceful design sculpture with the OYO DUO, which integrates harmoniously into any bathroom, flowing and almost floating – even in smaller rooms.

As part of his design process, Diez ensures that each of the components can at some future point be returned to the material cycle without any problems. With the OYO DUO, the designer and Kaldewei have crafted a very beautiful product that demonstrates the combination of luxury and sustainability in an extremely successful way. The double-walled bathtub has been inspired by Japanese porcelain and is comprised of 100 percent recyclable and sustainable steel enamel. This precise design is possible due to the highest level of German engineering.

KALDEWEI’s many years of experience, ensure that the interior shape of the KALDEWEI MEISTERSTu?CK OYO DUO is extremely comfortable and has the perfect size to immerse your body and relax, yet it has been designed to hold less water, which is another benefit to the environment.

Its exterior shape follows the concept of elegance, lightness and naturalness. The egg-shape design gives the impression of a free-flowing form that has just touched down, appearing to be almost floating yet at the same time being calmly still. It is an expression of appreciation for the materials processed. “The MEISTERSTu?CK OYO DUO is modern and timeless at the same time. It is not part of a fashion, rather it is the result of a process. It looks as if a liquid, flowing form has been frozen the moment it touches the ground,” explains Stefan Diez.

The MEISTERSTu?CK OYO DUO is available in two sizes as well as in alpine white and in numerous elegant colours from Kaldewei’s Coordinated Colours Collection. Allowing it to fit perfectly into any bathroom.
