Newhey Carpets launches pioneering Palettes range

Bringing elements of high-end luxury bespoke design to its new broadloom 80/20 range, Newhey Carpets has utilised the innovative Colortec+ technology to bring a ground-breaking new offer to market.

Newhey Carpets’ new concept of four designs across five Palettes – each using two velvet yarns: a twist and a stipple yarn to create visual texture and depth, alongside a delicacy of line and colour – offers a sophistication in design not usually seen in a stock range available within 3-5 working days.

First to market, Palette 001 is a striking gold and black colourway. This will be closely followed by red, purple and rust palettes. The range will then be completed with a soft tonal moss palette, which picks up on the current trend for more natural-looking tones. The intention is to develop new palettes and regularly refresh existing palettes over time, catering for all colour and design trends.

Each of the five Palettes has been designed to offer all-round usability within the leisure and hospitality market. Large-scale, statement designs will be included, alongside smaller more textural options – allowing a full interior scheme to be co-ordinated with differing styles and scales. Options for insetting and rug features also increase the usability of this versatile stock collection, which is available in a 1600gsm heavy contract specification.

The collection also features the launch of Evo-Bac, an innovative backing material made from 100% recycled plastic bottles. In line with Newhey’s commitment to sustainable sourcing, Evo-Bac utilises Newhey’s unique hot-melt EVA back-coating process, one of the most energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly systems available.

Nina Heins, product development manager at Newhey Carpets, says: “The Palettes concept was designed to utilise the capabilities of our Colortec+ technology. Unlike our competitors, who predominantly use just velvet yarns, Newhey Carpets has the capability of also manufacturing with twist yarns.

“This unique ability allows us to create more visually-interesting designs, as we are working not only with colour, but texture too. We have created some stunning bespoke designs used for many prestigious installations, but we felt that it was time to offer this unique look as a widely-available stock range.

“Combining not only the twist and velvet texture but also the new stipple yarn, we have seen a lot of enthusiasm from our customers, especially from designers for whom quantity requirements and cost had previously been a barrier.”

Newhey Carpets’ Palettes range will launch at the Independent Hotel Show 2013 on 30th-31st October at Olympia, London.
