Richloom Contract’s recent collaboration with Studio DADO is making waves in the Cruise industry

Richloom Contract has partnered with the award-winning Studio DADO to design and develop a series of bespoke items for the Norwegian Prima, Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest and most luxurious vessel at sea. “When Studio Dado approached us with this project, I knew it was an exciting opportunity to drive new trends in the cruise industry,” says Lauren Somers Pelusio, Richloom Contract’s Vice President of Design. “We love working with Studio DADO because their design team always pushes the envelope. Our teams share a love of innovation and an attention to detail.”

The Norwegian Prima embarks on its maiden voyage later this month. Its first guests will discover a space that blends luxury, style, and relaxation for the ultimate experience at sea. Prima staterooms celebrate modern and elevated fabrics that showcase both form and function. Featuring Richloom’s Continuum quilted bed runner, Berlin pleated bed cushion and Amelie printed sofa cushion, bespoke items like these have proven to be the best way to bring new ideas to market quickly.

“Collaboration is at the heart of our work,” emphasizes Somers Pelusio. “Studio DADO knows how to design a space that inspires wonder. At Richloom, we understand how to execute that vision through the design of soft goods. Our fabrics and finished products are developed with performance in mind, so that the rooms maintain a level of quality over time.” Past collaborations between Richloom Contract and Studio DADO include Carnival’s Mardi Gras, Norwegian’s EPIC Haven and the revitalization of the Oceania-Class ships.

On board the Carnival Mardi Gras, Richloom’s custom items add visual interest to Studio DADO’s fresh design, creating an energetic atmosphere indicative of Carnival’s brand. Richloom’s couch cushions in Audley and Avondale, fabrics from their Kelly Hoppen Collection, add a lemony pop of color, while the printed blackouts extend the line of the horizon with an engineered ombré print.

With rich textiles, opulent finishes, and a contemporary color palette, Studio DADO’s design on Norwegian’s EPIC Haven strikes a decidedly different tone. Richloom’s custom bed cushion in pattern Delaire invites a sense of calm and rejuvenation in the newly designed Owner’s suite.

These projects represent a small portion of Richloom Contract’s work in the cruise industry with a proven track-record on the most influential new builds and revitalization projects of the past decade. Experts in the IMO code and MED certification, Richloom’s team works with customers to ensure all specifications meet or exceed industry standards. The company has established corporate offices in New York and Shanghai, strategic alliances across Europe, India and the Middle East, and an international sales network. Richloom Contract leverages their global footprint and industry relationships to develop unique fabrics and finished products for cruise partners.
