The project resource centre for hospitality professionals – NWDC

Positioned on the outskirts of Manchester city centre, the North West Design Centre (NWDC) is a haven of inspirational products and finishes that are displayed in semi-room set environments. With a team of experts from commercial and high residential backgrounds, the centre is able to assist with a wide range of elements for build or refurbishment projects.

NWDC is a trade facility that allows hospitality and high end residential professionals to present and visualise ideas to their clients. The centre boasts a range of facilities, including presentation lounges, refreshments, an AV media suite, well-stocked resource areas for furnishing references and ample parking space. A wide variety of room sets – from bedrooms to bars, restaurants to kitchens – is also on offer, which feature striking furniture and fittings in a live environment.

“We’ve had an amazing year to date, with very positive feedback all round and some exciting and leading suppliers now permanently based at the centre. Recent expansion has led them to be involved across a wealth of incredible projects, including luxury boutique hotels and private members bars in London, through to leading restaurants and super yachts overseas.”

Neil Guest, MD of NWDC

The 20,000ft² project resource centre is spread across two floors that incorporate leading interior brands and associate suppliers, and is well established as a leading destination for hospitality and design professionals. The vast showrooms house specialist areas for designers and clients to see what is on offer first-hand.

The centre team works away from the conventional catalogue-style products and services, setting it apart in the industry. With a wealth of experience, from the design and manufacture of VIP club booths to boutique hotel furniture, the centre has a comprehensive range of furniture produced both in the UK and Europe. With an in-house technical design team to support ideas prior to production, the centre also undertakes bespoke furniture production.

NWDC is shortly due to launch its specialist technology suite and lounge, in association with some of Europe’s leading manufacturers in the AV sectors. There is already a good deal of enhancements and features being developed for phase two, including biometrics and exclusive ranges of cinema room accessories and furniture.

Neil comments: “Our clients from the hospitality sector already benefit from the involvement of these associates, by way of the manufacturers being directly involved at early stages of the projects, so hopefully this will transmit to our high end residential clientele.”

Denise Jones, centre manager at NWDC, adds: “Our parent company, Dawnvale, operates from the Manchester head office with production workshops and a team of experts on hand, including metal fabrication, technical design, contract fit-out team, bespoke joinery and a contract furniture division based in the UK and overseas.”
