Heimtextil’s trends to be brought to life

The next edition of textile trade show, Heimtextil, will take place in Frankfurt am Main between 8-11th January. The elaborate Trend Show in Forum 0 will highlight two trends for 2014 – Progress! and Revive! – in four inspiring settings featuring numerous interactive elements. The trend settings comprise Generate Collision!, Engineer Nature!, Exalt Purity! and Rejuvenate Craft!.

A team of six international design studios worked on the most important trend themes, and London’s FranklinTill studio has assumed overall responsibility for the concept.

Interactivity will be a key feature of the Heimtextil Trend Show 2014. “We aim to bring trends to life by integrating fragrances, sounds and even taste,” say Caroline Till and Kate Franklin at FranklinTill. “Visitors will be able to see designers and artists in action and create their own unique designs.”

For example, movement will cause the shape and colour of images to change in Generate Collision!; Engineer Nature! will highlight futuristic bio designs; Exalt Purity! will spotlight natural materials in a relaxed atmosphere; and Rejuvenate Craft! will present textiles on three levels and tracks.

Furthermore, designers, creative specialists and experts will provide well-founded information about the trends of the 2014/2015 season during the lecture programme. Over 35 lectures – specially designed for buyers, products designers and developers, interior architects and furnishing experts – will provide a host of valuable information about trends, colours and materials.
