Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler begins nature-inspired renovations

As part of a continued commitment by Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler to enhance its mountainside property and guest experience, an exciting renovation of its Private Residences is getting underway on this summer, with an anticipated completion date of December 2022.

The exceptional new design seeks to transport nature’s soothing white noise from outside to inside, creating a luxurious, sophisticated, and ultra-relaxing home away from home.

The sounds of falling rain, swaying trees, rustling leaves, and the call of crickets: the most soul-stirring white noise comes from nature. The echoes of whispering woods and trickling streams help restore a sense of well-being, contributing to deeper relaxation, more peaceful sleep, and stress reduction. The renovations by CHIL Interior Design aspire to instil these restorative qualities within the newly refined interior spaces.

“In creating a contemporary design, we were inspired by white noise in nature and how the sound of the rain or the wind calms people down and helps people reach an inner rhythm and sense of well-being,” says CHIL senior associate Sandy Lu. “The overarching concept for the renovation is a warm, sophisticated space that reflects the existing aesthetic of Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler while at the same time bringing that outside beauty of Whistler and the mountains in.”

The renovation’s overall mood and colour scheme effortlessly combine natural hues with a material palette of wood, stone, natural fibre textiles, and leathers. Blurring the lines between outdoors and indoors, the inviting style has a Swedish spirit with a nod to the American Arts and Crafts movement, the whole comprising understated elegance and fine craftsmanship.

Sleek new furnishings in neutral tones for indoor and outdoor living (including gorgeous lanterns and planters for the terrace), modern accents and wall coverings, stunning stone backsplash, custom pull-out sofas with integrated shelving, and elegant lighting are just some of the enhanced features that will elevate the feel, comfort, and aesthetic excellence of these welcoming residences. So are beautiful new wood floors and thoughtfully selected artwork.

Residents will be able to adjust lighting and drapery to set different moods with the touch of a button without getting out of bed; add in cutting-edge built-in music systems, and these homes are more like modern sanctuaries amid nature’s most spectacular surroundings.

“There’s a tranquillity among the suites,” Lu says. “They’re not only beautiful but also very comfortable. The new design is very serene and will provide that sense of ease that’s found in nature, with all the attention to detail that Four Seasons is known for.”
