Hilton Worldwide has announced the opening of Hilton Suites Makkah First Tower at the heartland of Saudi Arabia. The 480-room contemporary luxury hotel – which is split into two towers – boasts views overlooking the Kaaba and Holy Haram.

Rob Palleschi, global head at Hilton Hotels & Resorts, says: “Overlooking the Grand Holy Masjid in the centre of Makkah, the Jabal Omar development – one of the largest hotel developments in the world – meets the growing demand for a wider variety of accommodations from the rising number of travellers visiting Saudi Arabia every year. We look forward to welcoming visitors to this important region to our fifth hotel in the country, and to offering guests the world-class service and amenities for which the Hilton brand is known.”

The hotel is located 100km from Jeddah International Airport, with many of the city’s holy sites and popular Makkah attractions just a short distance away. Pilgrims and guests can visit the Masjid al-Haram and the Kaaba, drink water from ZamZam Well, hike to the peak of Jabal al-Nour – the Mountain of Light, admire the  exhibits on display at Makkah Museum and shop at the extensive Makkah Mall.

Hilton Suites Makkah features a range of amenities designed for business and religious guests. Guest rooms are designed to convey a sense of balance, space, luxury, comfort and symmetry, featuring a distinctive colour scheme based on the five times of prayers throughout the day – sunrise, noon, late afternoon, sunset and nighttime. Generous work areas and WiFi access is included.

Guests can choose to dine at one of the five outlets: Al-Khalil cafe, Al-Falak lounge, Al-Kawkab lounge, The Orchid Asian restaurant and Al-Qandeel all-day dining restaurant. The hotels also boast two flexible meeting spaces and the latest audio-visual equipment.

Rudi Jagersbacher, president at Hilton Worldwide Middle East & Africa, says: “Saudi Arabia has seen a steady increasing number of religious and business travellers over the past years. As the world’s largest pilgrimage site, Makkah attracts millions of people from every corner of the world during the annual Hajj and the seasonal Umrah pilgrimage. Hilton Worldwide entered the holy city 19 years ago with its maiden property Makkah Hilton & Towers, the first international hotel to open in Makkah. The opening of Hilton Suites Makkah complements the existing hotel and supports the growing pace of visitors going to Makkah.”

Ismail Sirry, GM at Hilton Suites Makkah, adds: “Hilton has a well-recognised presence in Makkah as well as the region, and with the opening of Hilton Suites Makkah we aim to continue delivering the Arabian hospitality and comfort to meet our guests’ needs and ease their hardship during their spiritual journey.”
