Mangia’s unveils Costa Ragusa: A new Sicilian destination

Mangia’s Hotels & Resorts is unveiling Costa Ragusa, a new lifestyle destination on Sicily’s south-eastern coast that brings together two distinctive hospitality concepts alongside a curated collection of restaurants, wellness facilities and leisure offerings.

Anchored by the 5-star all-inclusive Mangia’s Costa Ragusa Borgo, which soft-opened on 1st July, and the 5-star luxury Icona’s Costa Ragusa Resort, due to open 1st August, the destination is designed to welcome both resident guests and visitors seeking authentic Sicilian experiences. Together, they represent the first chapter of an ambitious destination development project on Sicily’s south-eastern coast, opening up one of Italy’s most authentic and under-explored regions to international travellers.

Easily accessible via Catania and Comiso airports, the compelling destination stretches between the Kamarina Archaeological Park, Scoglitti, Marina di Ragusa and the Baroque towns of the Val di Noto, an area combining ancient history, remarkable food and the great outdoors.

Mangia’s Costa Ragusa Borgo

Opened on 1st July 2026, Mangia’s Costa Ragusa Borgo overlooks Sicily’s south-eastern coastline in the heart of the Val di Noto, featuring 433 rooms, suites and villas. The resort takes its name and design cues from the traditional Sicilian borgo, a small, close-knit village built around a central piazza. The result is a genuinely convivial, open-air setting that combines authentic Italian hospitality with wellbeing, sport and relaxed all-inclusive living for families, couples and modern travellers alike.

Dining is centred around the ‘All-Inclusive Sublime’ concept, a dine-around programme combining buffet and à la carte restaurants. Celebrating the best of Italian cuisine, menus showcase authentic Sicilian specialities alongside international favourites, from classic pizzas enjoyed on open terraces at Al Grano Pizzeria to fresh salads and homemade pasta at Mediterra, the Borgo’s family table. Families are also exceptionally well catered for, with a Crèche (6 months – 3 years), Kids Club (4 – 13 years) and Teen Club (14 – 17 years) delivered in partnership with Worldwide Kids, an international leader in luxury family hospitality for more than 30 years. Creative activities, sport and outdoor adventures are complemented by a dedicated Water Park, offering entertainment for guests of all ages.

Sport and active experiences leverage the Borgo’s exceptionally varied spaces, from 14 red clay tennis courts to padel, pickleball, beach volleyball and water sports, alongside dedicated facilities for training camps, tournaments and retreats. It is a place that promotes wellbeing through movement and connection with the landscape, making it a natural fit for stays orientated towards dynamic wellness and performance, as well as traditional family holidays. Wellness is led by The Longevity Spa, offering beauty, restoration and rejuvenation therapies. Inspired by the world’s Blue Zones, the concept combines traditional wellbeing practices with advanced wellness science.

Icona’s Costa Ragusa Resort

Launching on 1st August 2026, Icona’s Costa Ragusa Resort is one of the inaugural properties of Mangia’s new luxury Icona’s brand, alongside Palermo’s iconic Grand Hotel et Des Palmes. Together, they represent two distinctive expressions of contemporary Italian hospitality, each deeply rooted in its destination and united by an uncompromising commitment to exceptional service, timeless elegance and a profound sense of place.

A refined expression of quiet luxury on Sicily’s south-eastern coast, Icona’s Costa Ragusa Resort is set among centuries-old olive groves and opens towards the sea horizon. Its architecture and interiors embody a timeless Italian aesthetic, where every detail has been thoughtfully crafted to create an atmosphere of effortless elegance and exclusivity. With 105 rooms and suites, an elegant beach club, and exclusive wellness and leisure facilities, the resort has been designed for guests who value contemporary design, nature and refined Italian hospitality.

Dining unfolds across eight restaurants, bars and lounges, from haute Sicilian cuisine at IBLÆ to cliffside Med-Nikkei dining at AMA. Each culinary moment is designed to be savoured slowly, with thoughtfully curated flavours, elegant settings and service that is attentive, discreet and effortlessly polished. The resort’s spa, managed by The Longevity Suite in partnership with Italy’s leading longevity and biohacking specialist, is conceived as a sanctuary for restoration and inner balance, featuring four treatment cabins, indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, steam bath and a cryotherapy cabin.

Sport is elevated into a lifestyle experience at Icona’s Costa Ragusa Resort, with tennis, padel, running paths through the landscape and a fitness centre set within surroundings that allow guests to train in complete privacy. The setting makes the resort well suited not only to individual training but also to athletes’ retreats, team sessions and specialised sporting programmes, particularly during the shoulder seasons.

A Destination Built for the Long Term

Costa Ragusa has been conceived as a destination that extends well beyond the summer season, supporting the long-term repositioning of south-eastern Sicily as a contemporary international destination. Its sports offering is central to this vision, offering a wide range of outdoor activities to broaden the destination’s appeal throughout the year.

Looking ahead to 2027, the destination will take a further significant step forward with the addition of Donnafugata Golf Resort, a redevelopment of over 200 rooms and private villas across almost 500 hectares, featuring two 18-hole championship golf courses, among only a handful of their kind in Sicily. The addition is expected to firmly establish Costa Ragusa as one of the Mediterranean’s leading golf and outdoor sport destinations, offering an exciting new chapter for golf travellers looking to Sicily.

The destination is also expanding its appeal to the meetings and events market. Mangia’s Costa Ragusa Borgo can accommodate corporate and private events for up to 800 guests, while Icona’s Costa Ragusa Resort offers a more intimate setting suited to board meetings, executive gatherings and private retreats. Combined, Costa Ragusa provides a comprehensive offering for corporate groups and MICE planners seeking a distinctive Italian setting.

Marcello Mangia, President and CEO of Mangia’s, commented: “Costa Ragusa was born from a clear vision: to reveal an authentic Sicily, an alternative to the most conventional routes of international tourism, enhancing the appeal of the south-eastern part of the island through a hospitality model deeply rooted in the territory, local culture and contemporary wellness.”

With the launch of Costa Ragusa, Mangia’s demonstrates its continued investment in the long-term future of an entire region, supporting local supply chains, improving connectivity and creating a genuinely diverse offering that spans luxury, family holidays, couples’ retreats, wellness, sport and business travel. This forms part of the group’s wider ambition to own and manage 30 properties across Italy by 2030.
