Mar-Bella Collection announces new hotel Avali, to open in 2025

Mar-Bella Collection, a family-owned Greek luxury hospitality brand, has announced that it will open a new hotel, Avali, in summer 2025. Nestled in the prime beachfront setting of Agios Ioannis Peristeron in south-west Corfu, the new hotel is less than 600-metres from the brand’s established MarBella and Nido hotels. The hotel will open following the meticulous rebuild of an existing property with 76 rooms and suites, catering to free-spirited young families, solo travellers and groups of friends seeking barefoot luxury.

Named Avali – a dialect of Corfu, meaning ‘a small bay’ – the property is set between verdant mountains and a 300-metre sandy pebbled beach on the sparkling Ionian Sea. It will be home to an expansive infinity pool, three-acres of lush gardens and a Beach House, which will be available for guests from across the Mar-Bella Collection portfolio to enjoy.

Developed with sustainability in mind, state-of-the-art energy-efficient materials have been used throughout and the team have partnered with a horticulturist to showcase native plant species. The natural surroundings – including the mountains, olive groves, foliage and beach – have also inspired

Avali’s fresh design. A calming colour palette will be used throughout, harnessing warm natural tones that reflect its beachside setting.

With a strong focus on gastronomy, Avali will offer guests a choice of two restaurant concepts and three bars. At the centre of the hotel will be an all-day restaurant, which will serve a buffet breakfast that showcases local ingredients every morning. For lunch and dinner, the open-kitchen will then offer an a la carte fusion menu of Mediterranean and Asian dishes. In the evening, guests can also enjoy a second outdoor a-la carte grill restaurant, with views across the sweeping bay.

Making the most of the resort’s proximity to Mar-Bella Collection’s other two Corfu properties, guests from all three hotels will be able to take advantage of a Dine Around programme. Utilising a daily allowance, guests can book into the a la carte restaurants to sample the impressive variety of cuisines on offer.

Avali will be home to a cosy lobby bar, a pool bar and the Beach House. The latter will be the heart of the hotel, serving as day time hangout, serving beach snacks, before transforming into an evening destination. Welcoming likeminded guests from across the Collection it will epitomise the barefoot luxury vibe of Avali.

Ensuring that Avali’s active guests can be kept entertained, the hotel will also have an indoor fitness area, an outdoor shaded yoga deck, and an outdoor spa cabin offering spa treatments in a private beach setting. There will also be a watersports centre with stand-up paddle boards, canoes and kayaks. MarBella and Nido’s facilities will be easily accessible and local tavernas are also within walking distance.

With a remarkable legacy spanning three generations, Mar-Bella Collection remains dedicated to providing unparalleled holiday experiences for its guests; while seamlessly interconnected, each property possesses its own distinctive character, catering to discerning travellers who may be looking for a different type of holiday at different stages of their life. For example, Avali will cater to a new generation of travellers, who seek luxury in a more relaxed setting that is connected to the surrounding environment. Meanwhile, MarBella provides a premium all-inclusive experience catering to the modern multi-generational family. Nido is an adult only hotel, offering a calm and elegant atmosphere, tailored for couples, friends and solo travellers. Elix, located on the mainland, appeals to design enthusiasts, grown-up families and beach lovers seeking outdoor adventure and a more off-the-beaten-track destination.

“We are thrilled to announce the forthcoming opening of Avali, a new beachfront hotel concept for summer 2025. Our latest investment in Avali is a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence in hospitality as we diversify our offering to cater to the modern traveller,” said Vassilis Dracopoulos, owner of Mar-Bella Collection.
