NH Hotel Group, part of Minor Hotels, has set out to match its pace of new hotel openings in Europe and Latin America to the expected recovery in the sector over the course of 2022.

Over the course of the new year, 10 new properties will open under the group’s brands and another six will be completely refurbished. The hotels added to the Group’s offer belong to the Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spa, NH Collection, nhow and NH Hotels brands, and will strengthen its position in competitive destinations in Europe, Asia and Latin America.

After the recent openings of hotels such as NH Collection New York Madison Avenue, NH Collection Venezia Murano Villa, NH Collection Copenhagen and NH Collection Prague Carlo IV, the second quarter of the year will see Milan, the city of fashion, welcome the NH Collection Milano CityLife.

The NH Collection Milano CityLife hotel building is as impressive as its location. It is housed in what was once the church of Christ the King, founded in the 1930s and now completely renovated while maintaining many of the original details. In an adjacent building, the hotel also offers features such as a swimming pool and a rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the city.

The decor of the hotel’s 185 rooms and suites reflects the typical Italian style of elegance and minimalism. In addition to other premium services and facilities, the hotel is perfectly equipped to host meetings and events of all types and sizes thanks to its six meeting rooms, its gardens and its lobby, which is part of the old church.

The NH Collection Oasis Doha hotel in Qatar will also open in mid-2022. The Oasis hotel, from which the new establishment takes its name, was in the same location and was Doha’s first hotel when it opened in the 1950s. The fully refurbished hotel will have a total of 300 rooms and more than 50 suites.

Finally, The Vyra Suites, operated under the NH Collection brand, will feature 228 apartments located in West Bay, Doha’s prestigious financial district that is home to much of the city’s most modern infrastructure. The hotel will open in the last quarter of 2022.

Also under the NH Collection brand, the group will complete the full renovation of the NH Collection Venezia Grand Hotel Palazzo dei Dogi in Q1. Situated in the fantastic 17th-century Rizzo-Patarol palazzo, this five-star property boasts a botanical garden and offers 64 rooms decorated in a classic Venetian style with Carrara marble and Murano glass and warm tones.

The nhow Frankfurt hotel will open in the third quarter of the year. This four-star property, located in Frankfurt’s financial centre, will open its doors under the theme ‘The Art of Money’ and will have 375 rooms spread over 14 floors, offering maximum comfort without compromising on the creativity that so identifies the Group’s most disruptive brand.

Five complete renovations in five key European cities

In 2022, NH will also continue to consolidate its strategic commitment to the luxury segment with the completion of the renovation works of five Anantara properties, adapting them to all the brand’s standards and incorporating all the features and experiences it offers. Two of the hotels joined the Anantara portfolio in 2021, while the remaining three will be added to the brand this year.

The second quarter will see the completion of the renovation of Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky Amsterdam which, in addition to 402 luxurious rooms, features The White Room, the hotel’s exclusive Michelin-starred restaurant.

Also available and fully renovated in that period will be the five-star Anantara New York Palace Budapest, located on the elegant Erzsébet Körút Boulevard. With its 185 rooms, wonderful spa and relaxing pool, it is a welcoming space close to theatres, restaurants and bars on the Danube side of Pest.

The third quarter will be the turn of the last three Anantara brand properties. The Anantara Palazzo Naiadi Roma, which has 232 rooms that combine the history and glamour of ancient Rome with the elegance and comfort of today; The Marker Hotel in Dublin, with 187 rooms and located in the Docklands area; and the Anantara Plaza Nice Hotel, which opened its doors in 1850, has 156 rooms inspired by the golden age of the Côte d’Azur and is located in one of the most beautiful areas of Nice.

Six new openings in UAE, Italy, Colombia, Argentina, Chile and China

NH Hotel Group, part of Minor Hotels, is also expanding its offer in Milan under the NH Hotel brand with the opening of NH Milano Corso Buenos Aires in the first quarter. Located on one of Europe’s major shopping avenues, it stands in a renovated, eye-catching building whose colour changes with the light of day. This boutique hotel will house 101 contemporary-style rooms.

NH will also expand its portfolio of properties in three Latin American countries. During the first quarter, it will debut two properties. First, in Colombia, where it will open the doors of the NH Cali Boulevard del Rio hotel. With this addition, NH strengthens its portfolio in the country with a total of 14 hotels, located in the cities of Bogota, Medellin, Cali, Barranquilla and Cartagena.

Secondly, in Argentina, it will open the NH Santiago del Estero hotel, located in the centre of the city, in the leisure area and with 97 rooms. The third opening, scheduled for the second quarter, will be in Chile, where the group will expand its presence with the opening of NH Iquique, a 10-minute walk from the beaches of Huayquique.

The group also plans to open the NH Zhengzhou Jinshui hotel in June. It will be located in the Jinshui district of Zhengzhou (China), adjacent to the city’s commercial and business district. The hotel will cover an area of about 9,195 square metres and will offer guests 138 guest rooms, multiple conference rooms, restaurants and other facilities.

In the case of the UAE, the Company will open the already announced NH Dubai The Palm hotel in the third quarter of 2022. Located on Dubai’s iconic Palm Jumeirah Island, it will be part of Seven Hotel & Apartments, a mixed-use development consisting of a hotel tower and a residential tower.
