The Student Hotel opens its doors in Berlin

The Student Hotel has opened the doors to its brand new Berlin location, bringing its co-living and co-working concept to the iconic landmark location of Alexanderplatz in the heart of the Mitte district.

Despite its name, The Student Hotel is not exclusively for students, but offers quality hotel accommodation and short-stay spaces for affordable prices to its connected community of students, young professionals and all those with an entrepreneurial spirit from across the globe.

The Berlin property boasts 158 hotel rooms, 35 short stay rooms, and 282 student rooms over eight floors. Students can stay from one term to one year, hotel guests from one night, and short stay guests from 14 nights.

In addition to accommodation, The Student Hotel Berlin offers physical, digital and cultural spaces for its guests to become ‘students of the world’. A large open courtyard offers the ultimate destination for communal relaxation, while guests can kick back and relax in the open-air cinema, lounge and games rooms, work out in the state-of-the-art fitness studio, or knuckle down in the co-working spaces, library and study facilities.

With a stand-out aesthetic from the rest of the group, The Student Hotel Berlin’s design is a tasteful reflection of the glamour and grunge that Berlin is famous for, taking inspiration from the local architecture and art scene, together with hints of the Memphis Style pioneered by Italian designer Ettore Sottsass in the 1980s.

“Berlin is one of the largest student cities in Europe and tops the rankings as a destination for international students,” comments Scottish Entrepreneur and founder of The Student Hotel, Charlie MacGregor. “Our Berlin site is the newest posterchild of our mixed-use concept of hybrid hospitality.

“We are really excited to open a location in such a vibrant hotspot which has been undergoing a major regeneration since the reunification of Germany. We also want to bring our student spirit to other vibrant cities that have the right mix of universities, (international) students and culture. The Student Hotel Berlin demonstrates our ability to anchor new districts and act as a catalyst and an accelerator for urban regeneration.”
