VIC Properties unveils Six Senses Residences Comporta, marking the highly awaited reveal and sales launch of an exclusive collection of 58 branded residences. The Residences are set within the 400-hectare Pinheirinho Estate, one of the most secluded and pristine coastal estates in western Europe, of which less than five percent will be developed.
Pinheirinho, meaning “little pine tree,” is one of the few developments approved on Portugal’s protected Alentejo shoreline. Located just over an hour south of Lisbon, Comporta is quietly beloved by those who know it – the discerning European, families and those seeking a true sense of authenticity. Spanning pine forest, undulating dunes and lakes, the estate opens directly onto 65 kilometres of Atlantic coastline, forming Europe’s longest sandy beach.
At its heart is an 18-hole golf course designed by the acclaimed Jorge Santana Da Silva and around it: several restaurants, a luxury retail village, a full program of outdoor sports, family-led and nature-led activities alongside a world of hospitality offerings.
The Residences draw on sustainable design, local craft, agricultural heritage and the traditions that define this untouched corner of Comporta. For placemakers, VIC Properties, building here carries responsibility as much as ambition to add to the landscape without altering what makes it worth coming to.
“It is an unquestionable source of pride to have Six Senses embracing Pinheirinho Comporta, a relationship that will set a new standard for sustainable luxury hospitality and integrated wellbeing, elevating Portugal, and Comporta in particular, in its global tourism and residential positioning,” says João Cabaça, Co-Founder and CEO, VIC Properties. “Some partnerships must be built. This one was already there – in the values, in the approach, in the deep respect that both Comporta and Six Senses hold for the places and people they touch. Wellness, sustainability, community: it’s the same language, spoken fluently by both, as if sharing the same DNA.”
Three Residential Collections
Designed for discerning international buyers, families and multi-generational owners seeking privacy, a connection to nature, wellness and a fully serviced lifestyle, The Residences offer a rare opportunity to own within one of Comporta’s most significant coastal estates. Designed by internationally renowned architect Michaelis Boyd, the two-to-five-bedroom Residences are primed to feel as one with the land. Boyd is known for its Soho House designs, most notably Soho Farmhouse.
The collections include Sand, villas with dune-inspired curves and sandy-toned interiors of cork, native wood and textured plaster; Forest, apartments and villas where dappled light, bark-textured renders and the warmth of wood and terracotta bring the forest in; and Lake, villas defined by reflection, light and glimpsed vistas, with textured contemporary finishes.
Taking an inside-out approach, each residential collection prioritizes natural light, with sunlit corners and courtyards shaping the experience of living within nature. Residences range from 200 m2 to 2,152 m2 (2,153 to 23,164 square feet) of living space, spilling onto expansive, sun-drenched terraces with outdoor kitchens, dining areas and heated pools with select villas offering private herb gardens. Additional amenities include cinemas, playrooms and private spas, reinforcing a lifestyle designed to slow down.
Materials are locally sourced, including pine, cork, terracotta plasters and repurposed sand, while homes are
powered by solar energy and temperature controlled through passive cooling. Residences include a curated furniture, fixtures and equipment package, ensuring a consistent design expression in line with the Six Senses aesthetic.
A Six Senses Lifestyle
Residents become part of a wider way of life shaped by wellbeing, sustainability and out-of-the-ordinary
experiences. Amenities span the full width of a Six Senses day. The spa, hidden within a walled garden and its three buildings echoing the surrounding dunes, houses thermal areas, hydrotherapy pools, the signature Six Senses Alchemy Bar and a dedicated longevity program. The organic kitchen garden feeds both restaurant and spa menus, guided by the Eat With Six Senses philosophy: natural, local, less is more.
Owners move through the estate along the Path of Life, a sculptural landscape element designed by Six Senses Sacred Geometry Consultant, Alberto Amura, that links the Residences to the property’s main areas, doubling as the estate’s quiet spine. From there, easy access is available to the lakeside pontoon, outdoor cinema and sound dome.
The Six Senses Earth Lab engages residents with hands-on sustainability and innovation; Grow With Six Senses does the same for younger ones, through activities built around the six dimensions of wellness.
