In addition to exporting VitrA branded products to more than 75 countries, the Eczac?ba?? Building Products Division is continuing to invest in manufacturing capacity outside of Turkey, in line with its growth strategy.

With the completion of its second manufacturing investment in Russia, at a cost of ‚¬21 million, the Division is now producing ceramic sanitary as well as tiles at its production complex in Serpukhov, some 100km from Moscow. The new ceramic sanitary ware plant, which the Division officially opened on 13 May 2014, raises the number of Division plants abroad to 10 and the total number of plants to 16. The Division now has two plants in Russia, two in France, and six each in Turkey and Germany. The new plant is the Division’s first ceramic sanitary ware investment outside of Turkey.

Eczac?ba?? Group Chairman Bülent Eczac?ba?? and Vice Chairman Faruk Eczac?ba?? hosted the inauguration ceremony, which was attended by the Moscow Region Minister of Investment and Innovation Denis Petrovich Butsaev, Serpukhov Governor Alexandr Vyacheslavov?ch Shestun, and Turkey’s Ambassador in Moscow, Ayd?n Adnan Sezgin. Eczac?ba?? President and CEO Dr. Erdal Karamercan, Eczac?ba?? Building Products Executive Vice President Atalay Gümrah, and Eczac?ba?? Building Products Vice Presidents Ahmet Yamaner (Technology and Investments) and Zeki ?afak Ozan (Tiles) also attended the event.

In his speech at the ceremony, Eczac?ba?? Group Chairman Bülent Eczac?ba?? said, “Russia has now become an important production center for us, following Turkey, Germany and France. Ten of the Building Products Division’s 16 plants are located abroad and producing for international markets. We are proud to represent Turkey in different locations around the world with our production facilities as well as our sales,” he added.

To date, the Eczac?ba?? Building Products Division has invested ‚¬60 million in its production complex in Serpukhov, which encompasses 46 thousand square meters of covered space on a total area of 200 thousand square meters. Opened in 2011, the tile plant can produce up to 3.2 million m2 of tiles per year; the new ceramic sanitary ware plant has an annual capacity of 250.000 large pieces. VitrA branded products are available at 1000 sales point around Russia.
