Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo has revealed the first phase of its extensive renovation, introducing 45 newly designed rooms and suites by renowned French architect and interior designer Jacques Garcia.
Located on the hotel’s second and third floors, the refurbished accommodation includes five categories: Deluxe Premium Room, Prestige Room, Deluxe Premium Junior Suite, Prestige Junior Suite, and Deluxe Premium Suite. Garcia, who was also responsible for the hotel’s redesign in 2004, has drawn inspiration from the Mediterranean’s colours, textures and timeless spirit, to create interiors that blend refinement with contemporary comfort.
The rooms on the second floor feature soft blue tones and embroidered Colefax & Fowler wall fabrics to offer guests a calming atmosphere. On the third floor, golden hues capture the sunlit warmth of Riviera afternoons. Junior Suites feature bespoke centrepieces designed exclusively by Garcia – a dual-purpose dressing table and writing desk, crafted in Laurier green Tassin leather and white ash wood, with a discreetly integrated sliding television. A freestanding cast-iron bathtub by Devon & Devon also ensures each Junior Suite’s bathroom has a bring retro-chic elegance.
The Deluxe Suite offers a larger layout, with a separate living room and the flexibility to connect with an adjoining suite, creating a spacious private apartment ideal for longer stays. All room categories feature Calacatta Borghini marble mini-bars, with tailored lighting and a curated mix of natural materials.
Speaking about the project, Jacques Garcia says, “The Metropole has always been a unique place in Monaco. Rethinking it now meant keeping its soul intact, while enhancing what makes it so special, a certain Riviera spirit, both refined and relaxed. It is above all the spirit of timelessness. We are telling a story here, a story of travel, of welcome, of the thirst for discovery.”
Mr. Serge Ethuin, General Manager of Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo adds, “We are proud to present the first stage of our property’s transformation, which reflects both the hotel’s enduring heritage and its forward-thinking vision. These newly reimagined rooms and suites exemplify our commitment to excellence, offering guests an elevated experience defined by elegance and comfort.”
The completion of these rooms marks the beginning of a phased renovation that will continue floor by floor, reimagining all rooms and suites with the same Mediterranean-inspired aesthetic. Earlier this year, the hotel introduced also its new spa in partnership with Guerlain. The Spa Métropole by Guerlain offers ten treatment rooms dedicated to Guerlain’s signature rituals, including three exclusive treatments: Golden Sand, Monaco Glow and Puissance du Rocher.
