Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Portuguese real estate developer Coporgest has announced that affiliates of the companies have entered into agreements for the development, branding and operation of Park Hyatt Comporta and Park Hyatt Comporta Residences, expected to open in 2029.

The project will introduce the Park Hyatt name to Portugal in Comporta, a coastal destination in Alentejo region known for its relaxed beach lifestyle, protected natural surroundings and local character. Located within an hour of Humberto Delgado airport in Lisbon, Park Hyatt Comporta will extend Hyatt’s luxury brand presence in Europe while bringing the brand to one of Portugal’s most distinctive leisure destinations.

Park Hyatt Comporta is currently proposed to include 58 guestrooms and suites, six two-bedroom private villas and 22 residences fully serviced with access to all the amenities and services of the hotel. Current plans also encompass swimming pools, a wellness space and fitness center, padel court, kids’ club and a collection of restaurants. The hotel will be adjacent to the Troia Golf Course and a 20-minute ride from four other courses. The 6-hectar, 18-hole and par 72 Troia Golf Course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., is located alongside the beach with a scenic view of the Arrábida Mountain.

A Natural Home in Comporta

Set along Portugal’s Atlantic coast, Comporta is well known for its unspoiled shoreline, protected nature and laid-back approach to luxury. Its combination of natural beauty, proximity to Lisbon and growing appeal among international travelers provides a fitting setting for the Park Hyatt brand’s signature hospitality and highly personalized service.

“This location for a Park Hyatt hotel feels like a perfect match. Comporta has a rare combination of relaxed beach living, protected nature and creative spirit, with a sense of calm that has remained wonderfully intact. It’s a natural home for the understated, highly personal approach to luxury Park Hyatt hotels have been shaping for nearly half a century,” said Tamara Lohan MBE, Global Brand Leader – Luxury, Hyatt.

Park Hyatt Comporta will join a collection of hotels in sought-after European destinations including Paris, London, Milan, Vienna, Zurich, Marrakech and Istanbul. While each reflects its own setting, Park Hyatt hotels share a commitment to residential design, intuitive service and experiences shaped by culture and beauty of their surroundings.

“Bringing the Park Hyatt brand to Comporta reflects the shared ambition between Coporgest and Hyatt to create a landmark luxury destination. We have really valued Hyatt’s collaboration in bringing this project to life and can’t wait to open in this exceptional coastal enclave,” said Sérgio Ferreira, CEO of Coporgest. “Park Hyatt Comporta will combine a beautiful beachfront location, distinctive architecture and outstanding quality, reinforcing Portugal’s and Comporta’s ability to attract the world’s leading luxury hospitality brands.”

The Residences, comprising six villas and 22 apartments, are planned to be fully integrated into Park Hyatt Comporta’s operation. Available for private ownership, there will be six villas and 22 residences featuring fully serviced living. Owners will enjoy the privacy of a home alongside access to service, amenities and management associated with Park Hyatt properties.

“The Park Hyatt Comporta Residences will act as a natural extension of the surrounding coastline, serving as a tranquil, luxury retreat just south of Lisbon,” said Tina Necrason, Global Head of Branded Residential, Hyatt. “The Residences will be imbued with the Park Hyatt brand’s signature design and personalized service, and enhanced by Hyatt’s differentiated approach to branded residences, focused on consistency and connection. Discerning homeowners will have access to thoughtfully designed villas and spaces at the center of the burgeoning, sought-after destination of Comporta.”

Within the wider Comporta Beach Resort complex, a further 31 luxury villas and 49 apartments will form the Luxury Beach Residences by Corporgest. This residential offering will be marketed and operated by Coporgest, a highly renowned Portuguese developer, specializing in high end real estate and tourism projects. These units will be available for private ownership, with owners enjoying the privacy of their own home while benefiting from the services and amenities of Park Hyatt Comporta.

Looking ahead, the Park Hyatt brand has some exciting new openings in 2026 including Park Hyatt Phu Quoc and Park Hyatt Riviera Maya, followed by Park Hyatt Mexico City, Park Hyatt Vancouver, Park Hyatt Taormina in 2027. Together, these additions will further strengthen the brand’s presence in much sought-after city and resort destinations around the world.
