Latine, a French-Latin Mayfair restaurant set to launch in June

Latine, an exciting new restaurant concept, offering a sophisticated menu built on elegant French dining, punctuated by Latin American accents, will be opening its doors in the historic mews of Lancashire Court, Mayfair, just moments from New Bond Street.

Opening in June, Latine is an elegant social dining destination, bringing together refined cooking, bold flavours, and a lively atmosphere across several distinctive spaces and floors. It is a place to arrive early and stay into the evening, moving seamlessly from drinks to dinner and on to late-night cocktails.

The ground floor is home to ‘The Restaurant’ and a dedicated Crudo Bar, while an inviting champagne terrace extends into the cobbled courtyard of Lancashire Court within the new development of The Mayfair Quarter. On the first floor, ‘La Candela’ offers a lively restaurant and lounge experience. On the second floor guests will find a beautiful hand-painted private dining room ‘El Cielo,’ which seats up to 20 guests. The interiors reflect the dual identity at Latine’s core: elegant and considered, yet full of warmth and energy.

As the evening progresses, the atmosphere shifts downstairs to ‘LACAV’, a warm, low-lit space with South American influences. Following the opening of the main restaurant in June, ‘LACAV’ will open in September, where cocktails, champagne, and curated music, including live DJ sets, will carry the experience into the night.

Led by Executive Chef Francisco Lafee, a Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef who honed his craft in Michelin-starred kitchens including Centrale, El Celler de Can Roca and Barrafina before travelling extensively across South America, the menu sits at the intersection of two culinary worlds. Classic French technique provides the structure, while Latin American ingredients, bold flavours and vivid colour provide the soul. Seafood sits at the heart of the offering, with a dedicated Crudo Bar bringing theatre and vitality to the ground floor – showcasing ceviches, tiraditos and tartares prepared with the highest quality fish and shellfish.

Signature dishes include, a steak tartare with truffle mayonnaise, wild seabass with beurre blanc and ají amarillo, chargrilled beef fillet with Périgord sauce and dark chocolate, and steak tartare with truffle mayonnaise and crisp potato pavé. Dessert highlights include a tarte tatin of ripe plantain with coffee caramel.

Each dish is a seamless expression of the restaurant’s French-Latin identity, a philosophy that extends to the drinks menu. Cocktails draw on the tropical fruits, warming spices and citrus notes of Latin America, while the wine list specially curated by Romain Audrerie, previously of The Savoy, Tramp and Chiltern Firehouse pairs classic French regions with outstanding producers from across Latin America.

On the announcement, a spokesperson from Latine commented: “Latine draws on different influences, but always with the intention of creating something that feels natural, generous and full of life. It was important to us that Latine would evolve from day to night, allowing guests to settle in, connect, and stay for as long as they like. We’ve created a space that feels both refined and relaxed, where every detail is considered but never overwhelming, and we’re excited to finally share that with Mayfair.”
