The Lensbury unveils £10M refurbishment

The Lensbury, part of the Iconic Hotels & Resorts portfolio, has unveiled a reimagined duo of food and beverage destinations alongside the first phase of its guestroom refurbishment programme.

Centred around the launch of The Riverside, a new all-day dining destination overlooking the Thames, and the Sports Bar at The Lensbury, a contemporary venue inspired by the property’s rich sporting heritage, The openings are accompanied by the first collection of newly refurbished guestrooms, introducing a refreshed design aesthetic inspired by the resort’s connection with sport.

Across rooms and public spaces, the design reflects The Lensbury’s longstanding connection to sport. A cohesive palette of terracotta, greens, navy and warm neutrals flows from room to room, while references to cricket, tennis and the club’s broader sporting legacy are woven subtly throughout, from quilted textures inspired by cricket pads to pleated lighting recalling traditional tennis whites.

The Riverside

Set along the water’s edge is The Riverside, where a light-filled conservatory is complemented by views of the river.

The Riverside Restaurant

The restaurant features generous tables catering to families and larger groups, while a terracotta-led palette, natural textures and abundant planting create an “outside-in” feel that brings a sense of occasion without formality.

Sports Bar at The Lensbury

Sports Bar at The Lensbury offers a dedicated space for live sport, drawing on the resort’s long history of hosting athletes and international squads for over a century.

Rich, earthy tones and layered textures create a relaxed setting, with subtle references to sporting culture throughout the interiors. A surrounding lounge provides a quieter space to gather, whilst the Sports Bar serves an elevated bar menu designed for matchdays and group dining.

Reimagined Guestrooms

Complementing the new food and beverage offering, the first phase of The Lensbury’s guest room refurbishment introduces redesigned Clubhouse Double, Clubhouse King, Deluxe Double and Deluxe King room categories. The new interiors bring a softer, more residential feel to the accommodation, blending comfort with subtle references to the property’s sporting legacy.

Clubhouse King

Managing Director of The Lensbury, Claire Llewellin-Davis, said: “This refurbishment marks an exciting evolution for The Lensbury, with our new food and beverage spaces playing a central role in how we bring our community together.

“Designed to be both welcoming and versatile, they offer something for everyone; from members and guests enjoying relaxed, Thames-side dining, to teams and elite athletes seeking high-quality, nourishing environments to fuel performance and recovery. These spaces reflect our ongoing commitment to creating a ‘home from home’ that feels elevated yet familiar to locals and guests.”
