The Village Dallas, a 300-acre master-planned community in the heart of Dallas, has announced that Terraces at the Drey is now open to the public.
An extension of The Village’s original Drey Hotel, Terraces at the Drey introduces a different kind of Dallas stay: one that feels less like checking into a hotel and more like stepping into a neighborhood already in motion. Here, elevated hospitality meets the energy of a culturally-rich community, with destination dining, wellness and fitness venues, recreational activities, green spaces, and plenty of reasons to connect, explore and feel at home.
Terraces at the Drey brings 46 highly individualized rooms and suites to The Village’s hospitality offerings. Reimagined through an adaptive reuse of a former office building, the new hotel embraces its unique elements with distinctive configurations, eleven-foot ceilings and rooms that feel collected – not cookie-cutter. Even more expansive are the hotel’s seven opulent terrace suites, where private open-air spaces create lush, treetop-like retreats that blur the line between indoors and out. Two signature corner suites boast outdoor living areas with bespoke furnishings, layered greenery, and skyline views among the oak canopy built to host intimate gatherings of up to 100 people.
Designed in partnership with James Carry Design Studio and Ink + Oro, Terraces at the Drey takes its cues from both the natural landscape and the layered energy of The Village. Wood-forward materials, abundant greenery and natural light create a warm, contemporary backdrop, while glass sculptural installations and trellis details reference dappled sunlight and shifting shadows. The aesthetic is intentionally relaxed: sophisticated without feeling precious, polished without feeling overly buttoned-up. The hotel’s name takes inspiration from a drey – the treetop nest built by squirrels – a fitting nod to the property’s elevated terraces that overlook the skyline and connect to the landscape. That idea carries throughout the experience, where indoors opens toward lush greenery, and outdoors becomes a natural extension of the hotel.

The distinct personality of Terraces at the Drey comes from its surrounding residential community setting. Just outside the lobby door, visitors will find restaurants to discover, fitness and wellness classes to drop into, pools to do laps in, and walking trails that invite guests (and their welcomed four-legged friends) to wander for miles.
“Terraces at the Drey represents another evolution of what The Village Dallas can offer: not simply a place to stay, but a place to experience,” said Jon Gray, Managing Director of The Village Dallas.
“We wanted to create something that feels elevated but never removed from the energy of The Village. Guests can wake up in a beautifully-designed room, walk out their door and find a neighborhood already buzzing around them, whether that means a great meal, a workout, a community event or simply a place to sit outside and spend the afternoon. That sense of connection is what makes The Village special, and we’re excited to bring it to life in a new way at Terraces at the Drey.”

Terraces at the Drey will also be home to Kobako, a 14-seat omakase restaurant slated to open in 2027, while guests can cross the street to Anise, the stylish bar at Drey Hotel, for cocktails and light bites, or indulge in unique dishes like foie gras cornbread and lamb bolognese at Meridian, which was recently named one of Dallas’ 50 best restaurants by D Magazine.
