Amsterdam’s design-led stay, The July, opens its doors in the heart of Dublin

This autumn, The July is bringing its Amsterdam-born spirit to Dublin, opening a new kind of aparthotel—one designed for the way people actually live, work, and travel today.

Stay your way

Business trips shouldn’t feel stiff, and long stays shouldn’t feel lonely. The July has been designed to feel effortless. Located on Capel Street, a stone’s throw from the River Liffey and a short walk from Temple Bar, the apartments are built for those who value independence. Choose from six thoughtfully designed apartment styles; ranging from studios to spacious one-bedroom suites with private terraces and full in-room kitchens – all the comforts of home, with the service of a hotel.

Inspired by the city

The design of The July Dublin has been a collaboration between The July’s in-house team, led by Dublin native and Head of Design Caitriona McGachy, and the award-winning interior studio Fettle. The interiors blend local heritage; inspired by Georgian architecture, Smithfield Fruit Market, 14 Henrietta Street, and Grattan Bridge with the brand’s signature clean lines and playful geometry. Nods to Irish designer Eileen Gray and a curated collection of local artwork further root the property in Dublin’s creative community. Sustainability is also woven into the fabric of the building, which holds a BREEAM Excellent certification. This means 100% all-electric energy, solar power, and non-toxic materials throughout.

A neighbourhood restaurant within a hotel

At the heart of the building is Ónora, a contemporary neighbourhood restaurant developed in partnership with Dublin hospitality group Bereen Brothers who are bringing their restaurant experience north of the Liffey for the very first time. The partnership combines The July’s successful approach to contemporary hospitality with more than two decades of restaurant experience from Conor and Marc Bereen, whose portfolio includes Coppinger, Orwell Road, Row Wines and Charlotte Quay. Onóra is built for relaxed, all-day dining, featuring locally sourced produce, vibrant cocktails, an outdoor terrace, and a fast-paced coffee hatch for those on the move.

A note from Joost van Beek, CEO of The July: “We’re excited to bring The July to Dublin. After growing in Amsterdam and London, we’ve learned that the best stays aren’t just about a room; they’re about feeling like you belong. We’ve built a space that blurs the lines between living, working, and exploring. Whether you’re here for a night or a month, this is a residential haven designed to adapt to your rhythm, not the other way around.”

The property also brings a true piece of Amsterdam to Dublin, including an on-site barber shop, flexible co-working spaces, and three meeting rooms. Add in a wellness area with a sauna and gym, an on-site laundry room, and top-floor views of the city, and you have the urban sanctuary Dublin didn’t know it needed.

General Manager Melanie Nocher says: “Capel Street has such a distinctive soul, energy, and rich history, making it the perfect home for The July. We didn’t want to create just another hotel; we wanted to build a genuine neighbourhood destination where guests and locals naturally come together. Our goal is for The July to fit right into the rhythm of Dublin, creating a space that feels comfortable, effortless, and alive from day one.”
